BIOGRAPHY
CAMERON PIERRE BIOG
Born in London, Cameron was raised on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Like most of his peers, Cameron's early musical influences were Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, and a host of artists from that era of popular Jamaican music, oh, and Stevie Wonder.
At sixteen he taught himself to play the guitar, and it was within the reggae genre that he first established himself, working with Jamaican artists including Clint Eastwood & General Saint, Barrington, Levy, Dennis Brown, Micheal Prophet and numerous others. Then came the slow discovery of George Benson and Charlie Christian, and through them, Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis and Charlie Parker.
As his own musical direction veered towards jazz, his taste and talent brought him to London where he soon became a regular on the Calypso, reggae, and circuit. In 1988, renowned British saxophonist Courtney Pine invited him to join his band and has since become an integral part of the group both as a recording and live artist.
Alongside Courtney's band, in 1994 Cameron formed 'Creole', a multi-cultural melange of musicians from Africa, Haiti, Cuba and the Caribbean, enjoying wide critical acclaim for their performances at the Glastonbury and Womad Festivals. In 1997, Cameron released the first of his five solo albums, Friday Night, to wide critical acclaim. In 2003 he also released The Other Side of Notting Hill, a body of work which was to help cement his reputation as a guitarist/composer par excellence. His most recent release, Pad Up (get ready) an Organ Trio recording was done for Pine's Destine-E Records featuring American Rod Youngs on Drums and the Swedish organist Anders Olinder.
Though his approach is undeniably indebted to that of his two great heroes, Wes Montgomery and George Benson, but infused with a bounce and vitality that belongs only to him alone. Touring with Courtney Pine's award-winning band Cameron's guitar style has dazzled many a jazz fan, and he has received glowing reviews from all over the world for his warm, dexterous sound and his self-deprecating and engaging stage presence.

The administrators of DIABLOTIN MUSIC welcome you to the network.
WE believe in the power of the internet, and the World Wide Web. It is, in our opinion, an excellent medium through which humanity can accelerate the process of creating a unified world, and heal the wounds of ignorance, while offering a better understanding of the diverse cultures that populate the world. Also the web is a means of instant communication, between individuals, or very, very large numbers of persons.
Ning was created in October 2004 by Marc and Gina Bianchini as an experiment,"We started Ning with a simple premise. We wanted to see what would happen if everyone had the freedom to create their own social network for anything," says Gina, CEO and Co-founder, adding, " We thought the results would be amazing, but they have truly surpassed our expectations. From artists to musicians, athletes, bloggers, video channels, journalists, students, educators, parents, craft hobbyists, alumni, and interest groups, the range and diversity of the social networks on Ning are profound."
For this reason, following in the footsteps of Diane Corriette, who started Dominica Disapora, and Raglan Riviere who started Writers of Dominca, we have introduced DIABLOTIN MUSIC which we expect to grow, as word gets around with your help.
WE have expanded our profile questions to give you the artiste more opportunity to share with persons, musicians, journalists etc who come across our network, and in addition, we have started some discussion groups. Feel free to chime in. Another great benefit of your membership is an automatic subscription to our mid-week bulletin: POSTSCRIPT, and our weekend newsletter, DIABLOTIN NEWS. The newsletter is also featured on the player as a podcast each week. WE also operate a 24- hour, internet television channel: DIABLOTIN TELEVISION, a didget is also availble on the home page for viewing anytime you like. We always welcome your comments, suggestions and contributions for inclusion to any of our media . WE ARE HERE FOR YOUR SUCCESS...
Being great fans of social networks, and mp3 hosting sites such as: myspace, soundclick, reverbnation, tagworld to name a few, we are confident, that membership in our DIABLOTIN businesss modules will open new horizons for Dominican musicians, and Dominicans at home and in the Diaspoara in general.
I am sure that if you have been reading up to this point that you will have some response, some suggestions or maybe even questions on how to use html to illustrate your page. WE will help you as much as we can.
We are here to help, and to bring the music and the culture of our beloved Commonwealth of Dominca, to our neighbours in cyberspace.
Have fun networking
Sincerely
ALBERT AND TEMPIE
